Join Royal Van Lent Shipyard and take part in the construction of some of the world’s most iconic superyachts.

As a Project Engineer Construction, you will be responsible for the full engineering scope of the casco (hull structure), from concept to completion. You will coordinate the technical execution of the project, lead a team of engineers, and act as the link between engineering, production, suppliers, and clients – ensuring every detail is engineered to perfection.

About the job
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations, class requirements, and project specifications.
  • Assess manufacturability and feasibility of designs throughout the engineering process.
  • Lead, mentor, and guide a team of construction engineers.
  • Coordinate technical information flow between departments, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Oversee quality, planning, and budgeting within the construction engineering scope.
  • Provide technical solutions and drive innovation in casco and exterior construction.
  • Report progress and align with stakeholders including Project Manager Engineering (PME) and Lead Engineer.

Who are you?
  • A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Naval Architecture or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Senior Engineer or 3 years as a Project Engineer in shipbuilding.
  • Proven knowledge in casco construction, structural design, and hull engineering.
  • Strong experience with CAD and 3D modelling software (preferably AutoCAD, Cadmatic, NX).
  • Familiar with FEM analysis, stress calculations, and weight/budget estimation.
  • Excellent communicator with strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering the highest standards.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
