Functional Application Specialist 3DX - CAD PLM Structures

As a Functional Application Specialist 3DX – CAD PLM Structures, you will help develop and improve structural engineering features within our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) platform, 3DExperience (3DX). You will explore new ways to make our designs smarter and more automated. You will guide colleagues in working together in a future proof, data driven way. You will work on several Damen Naval projects at the same time, giving you a unique look into all phases of our impressive shipbuilding projects.

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

• Translate structural engineering needs into functional specifications and innovative solutions together with stakeholders and the PLM Architect.

• Maintain strong relationships with software suppliers and partners, and support CAD/PLM users in resolving issues regarding shipstructures. 

• Coordinate and execute testing of new functionalities and software migrations within DTAP environments. 

• Create 3DX training materials and proactively explore new digitalization innovations.

• Advise on and set up product structures (EBOM/MBOM) and parametric parts/libraries. 

• Establish project related geometrical reference systems.

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

• Bachelor degree within shipbuilding, mechanical engineering, or any other relevant study.

• Experience with 3DExperience or any other associative 3D CAD modeler (e.g. Siemens NX, Tekla, PTC Creo, Solidworks), Cadmatic Hull (Legacy) is considered as a pre.

• Programming skills (Python/VBA/Batch) for CAD automation are a plus

• Excellent command of the English language, with proficiency in Dutch being advantageous.

• Excellent references, as a security screening is part of the hiring process.

• Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required. Candidates with EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
